Why a Professional Showreel Still Matters

Self tapes are essential, but they’re only one part of the picture. A professionally shot showreel shows casting directors and filmmakers how you actually perform on screen in real lighting, real framing, with real direction.

A strong showreel builds confidence fast. It shows presence, tone, timing and screen awareness, not just how you read lines, but how you live inside a cinematic world. It helps decision-makers see where you belong and trust you in professional productions.

The 88 to 1 Difference

88 to 1 is built by filmmakers, not content factories.

With nearly 20 years of experience in the film and television industry, our team approaches every showreel as a proper scene, not a box-ticking exercise. You’ll work under the direction of award-winning independent filmmaker Damien Giglietta, receiving real direction, clear intention, and professional on-set experience.

We create original content, tailored to your strengths, shot cinematically and treated with the same care as a professional production.

Real Experience. Real Value.

We believe actors shouldn’t be priced out of their careers.

88 to 1 exists to give performers access to high-quality, professionally shot showreels at an affordable price without compromising on craft, collaboration or credibility. It's about giving actors agency, confidence, and a body of work that truly represents them.

Actor Voices

In Their
Own Words

Unscripted. Unedited. Real feedback from the actors we've worked with.

"

Damien and his team were knowledgeable and knew how to get the best out of me. My reel turned out great, so much so that it secured me an agent in Canada which meant I could already start auditioning for roles as soon as I arrived.

"

At the heart of the company is director Damien Giglietta, who is an actor's director. He possesses the ability to speak an actor's language, drawing out layered, authentic performances and shaping scenes with precision.

"

I've been getting showreels made through 88 to 1 for over ten years and they always deliver. Not just technically but performance wise too. Damien has a way of simplifying scenes and getting the best out of you as a performer.

"

Being directed by Damien meant having access to a process of experimentation and curiosity that I haven't experienced anywhere else in the industry. If I could recommend any set to be professionally engaged with, there would be no question.

"

Damien was super hands on throughout the whole process — from helping me choose a script, to directing on the day and organising a post shoot debrief. I felt like I was heard and supported in what I was looking for.

"

Damien's direction is the kind that every actor hopes for. His feedback guides character objectives and relationship dynamics in a way that is so tangible and easily applicable. His wisdom and skill makes the actor's talent translate wonderfully into the showreel.

"

Damien helped me choose scenes that suited me and came to the shoot very well prepared. He took the time to break down the scenes and give clear direction throughout — the process never felt rushed. There was also genuine care for both me and my scene partner.

"

They create a professional, supportive environment where you feel immediately at ease and able to do your best work. Damien and the team bring a wealth of industry knowledge and are generous in sharing it throughout the process.

"

It was my first experience on a professional film set and I felt very comfortable and supported throughout. It was a very collaborative process and I feel like I have improved in my technique and increased my knowledge of screen acting.
